On behalf of the International Life Saving Federation and the 100 Member Associations, it is my honour to welcome you to the 37th Japan National Lifesaving Competition in Kanagawa.   Your competition is in honour of the March 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami disaster. The global lifesaving family will be thinking of you and wishing for resilience and recovery in the northern Japan disaster area.

国際ライフセービング連盟と、その100にも及ぶ加盟団体を代表し、神奈川での第37回全日本ライフセービング選手権大会開催に際し、共に皆様をお迎えできますことをたいへん誇りに思います。皆様の大会は、3月11日に発生した、大震災と津波の災害を思うと特別のものであります。世界中のライフセービングファミリーが、東北地方被災地の復興を心より祈っております。

This is the 20th Anniversary of the Japan Lifesaving Association, after the merger of Surf Life Saving Japan and the Japan Life Guard Association. You will celebrate this anniversary. The people of Japan are grateful for the valued service that you have provided to reduce drowning and water related injury in your amazing nation. ILS thanks you for being a valued partner in the global effort to reduce drowning, through lifesaving education and sport.

日本サーフライフセービング協会と日本ライフガード協会の統合により、日本ライフセービング協会が設立されて20周年を迎え、本日その式典が開催されるとうかがいました。あなた方の素晴らしい国における水辺の事故防止のために、皆様が提供してきた重要な活動に、人々は感謝しています。ライフセービング啓蒙活動やライフセービングスポーツを通じて、世界中の水辺の事故防止を目指す重要なパートナーである皆様に、ILSは感謝の意を表します。

Your work to embed water safety, drowning prevention and lifesaving within the population of Japan has great life saving value. Without your work the drowning deaths from the Disaster would have been much higher. Thank you to the Japan Lifesaving Association and other drowning prevention partners in your nation, for your life saving work.

皆さまの、水辺の安全、溺水事故防止、救助活動への取り組みは重要なライフセービング活動です。皆様の活動がなかったら、この災害における溺水者の数はさらに多くなってしまっていたことでしょう。日本ライフセービング協会、そして他の協力団体の皆様のライフセービング活動に対し、深く感謝の意を表します。
